Baby Gear AdviceUpdated July 2026
Jeff

Hi, I'm Jeff

Dad of two. I've done the pushchair thing twice — and researched it far harder than anyone should have to.

Where this started

Both times we had a baby on the way, buying the pushchair turned into a research project I didn't ask for. The choices are overwhelming, the marketing is relentless, and the price tags run from “fine” to “are you serious.” I wanted one straight answer: which of these actually holds up, and which quietly falls apart after six months? Nobody was giving it to me plainly, so I ended up working it out myself.

This site is where I write that down — the notes I'd give a friend who just found out they're expecting and doesn't know where to start.

What I don't do

I don't pretend to have pushed every stroller around the block for months myself. Nobody honest could own and test them all, and you should be wary of any site that claims otherwise. I've lived with the ones my own family used; everything else, I research properly rather than fake first-hand experience I don't have.

How I research

Every recommendation here is built on the same legwork: manufacturer specs, long-term owner reports, the independent testers I trust — Which?, MadeForMums, Mumsnet threads — cross-checked for what actually survives eighteen months of daily use rather than what photographs well in a launch video. When the sources agree, I have confidence. When they don't, I tell you why instead of pretending there's a clean answer.

On the safety-critical stuff

Some of this gear isn't just a convenience purchase — car seats, travel systems, and bassinets are safety equipment. For those, I lean hardest on the official safety standards and independent crash and lab testing, not star ratings or vibes. If a claim matters for your child's safety, I point you to the source so you can check it yourself, and I'll always tell you to follow the manufacturer's fitting instructions over anything I say.

About the affiliate links

This site uses affiliate links. If you buy something through a link here, I earn a small commission at no extra cost to you — that's what keeps the site running. The commission never decides the ranking. A cheaper pushchair with better long-term reviews beats an expensive one with weak feedback, every time.
